FIRST:
Fabulous last minute idea for Easter:
Instead of using that crappy plastic Easter grass that gets all over the place and burns up your vacuum cleaner, use green yarn instead. You can re-use it year after year, and it will look great!! Just un-wind it and scatter it all up and lay it in the bottom of the basket for the Easter bunny.
FABULOUS!
(I just sent Josh out to pick up some yarn, and will take pictures when he gets back. Couldn't wait!!)
SECOND:
My kids were in a total packed lunch rut. Sandwiches everyday, mostly turkey. I was getting feedback from the school that they just weren't eating their sandwiches.
ding ding ding Rocky! Idea.
I started using little cookie cutters and made their sandwiches into shapes. Clovers on St. Pat's Day, then stars and (by request) hearts.
I did have to squish the sandwich flat after I made it, because my cutters were small. But after the shapes were punched out, they sort of re-inflated back up.
I'll admit, there is a lot of waste... but, they ate all of it. All week. By Thursday Grant was requesting hearts instead of stars.
I figure the cookie cutter scrap waste is better than wasting the entire effing sandwich.
Have fun! Happy Eater. I mean, Easter!

2 awesome people had somethin' to say...:
ooh, super ideas! I'll have to remember that sandwich thing when Maggie gets older.
I do that too!! Get the big ones with the rubber tops- they just get the crust off, (still some waste, but not much) We've been on a flower & apple kick here.
